3 pieces of advice for a successful Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation Award application; New Grants, Competitions & more
Alternative Funding resources & community for mission driven founders
Hello there! I’m Esme, the founder of Considered Capital. This is the 26th issue of The Considered Club. We are 1161 strong. The most clicked post from our last issue was the S13 Fund. If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read today, share it with a friend.
In today’s issue I’m going to share 3 pieces of advice for a successful Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award application.
1. Always have a clear action plan before sitting down to write your application
“I think having a very clear project plan really helped. Because the clearer the plan, the clearer your vision for what you want to do with the award is, the easier it'll be to just fill in all the the questions, it just flows from there.”
2. They are looking for ambitious people who are going to be role models to other women so tell a compelling story
"My story of starting a business organically from my garden was more compelling than I thought it was. Sometimes these personal anecdotes make you stand out, especially when it comes to this award. After all the application is all about you as a leader and your potential to motivate other women and be a role model. "
3.Make the case for why you can’t fund this project yourself
'“You have to make a compelling case why you can't fund it yourself. Why do you need public funding? But there's no reason why you can't have a commercially viable business that can also benefit from this money.’
